Wild Thyme

I love this perennial - plant it now and it will last in the garden, or in a pot, for years! It's great as a pot plant with the foliage spreading in a lovely wild fashion, not the neat variegated bigger leaf of the cottage varieties of thyme. It doesn't need much attention, just sun, as it tolerates dry weather well and is fine in average soil. Pick the small fragrant leaves regularly to encourage more growth. A hard prune once a year will do wonders to rejuvenate a woody plant. A great companion to borage and cabbage plants (kale etc).
